First Cook – Indian Cuisine

About the role

We are looking for a First Cook specialized in Indian cuisine to join our kitchen team at Marriott International in Egypt. The role involves preparing special meals, managing temperature controls for ovens and grills, and ensuring food safety and quality throughout the service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook Indian dishes according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters and monitor food quality and quantity.
• Maintain food logs, ensure proper portioning, arrangement and garnish of each plate.
• Pull frozen items for thawing, prepare cold foods and assist with daily specials.
• Communicate menu specials, out‑of‑stock items and excess food usage to chefs and service staff.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree in culinary arts or related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant kitchen experience, preferably in Indian cuisine.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to work full‑time in a fast‑paced hotel environment.
