About the role
The Food Storeman is responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing all food supplies for the Sukari gold mine operation. Working within the Administration Department, the role ensures that food items are handled safely, meet hygiene standards, and are available for the catering and kitchen teams on a daily basis.
Key responsibilities
- Accept and unload all incoming food shipments, securing them in the warehouse.
- Maintain stock using a strict First‑In‑First‑Out (FIFO) system to minimise waste.
- Issue raw kitchen food items to catering staff according to daily requirements.
- Monitor and record humidity, temperature, and expiry dates of stored items.
- Enforce health, safety and hygiene standards and keep storage areas clean and audit‑ready.
- Prepare regular inventory reports and daily workflow summaries.
Required profile
- Degree or diploma from a commercial secondary school or related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in food storage, warehousing or a similar role.
- Preferable technical background or certification in food safety and HACCP.
Required skills
- HACCP certification or knowledge of HACCP principles.
