Freelance Senior Naval Communication Technician

About the role

ATEXIS Group is looking for a local freelance Senior Technician to lead the installation, testing, maintenance and repair of naval communication systems on a project in Alexandria. The role is hands‑on, on‑site and requires managing a small team of technicians while ensuring all technical and operational standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Perform customer‑site installations of communication equipment in an operational environment.
• Install unitary equipment following detailed manuals.
• Carry out cabling, cable repair, material handling, stock management and inventory control.
• Execute verification and non‑regression tests and document results.
• Identify, qualify, write and resolve Fault/Problem Reports.
• Write test procedures and update technical documentation.
• Update network switches and servers, both with and without manuals.
• Use a PC with virtual machines to troubleshoot Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Wire and configure radios, modems and related equipment.
• Define and fabricate custom cables.
• Lead and coordinate other technicians as part of the project.

Required profile

• Proven experience in naval installation, testing, maintenance and repair of communication systems.
• Preferably familiar with military environments.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
• Advanced competence with IT tools and a results‑oriented mindset.
