Gender Consultant for Sustainable Fisheries Project

About the role
WorldFish is seeking a Gender Consultant to support the implementation of the RedSeaFish Gender Action Plan (GAP). The consultant will work closely with project partners to embed gender equality and women’s empowerment across all components of the Red Sea sustainable fisheries initiative.
Key responsibilities
- Review and operationalise the Gender Action Plan, ensuring alignment with FAO and GEF gender policies.
- Assess and strengthen gender integration across project components and outputs.
- Develop a gender‑responsive monitoring and evaluation framework.
- Design a gender‑sensitive knowledge‑management, learning and communications plan.
- Coordinate with regional stakeholders to promote women’s participation and leadership in project activities.
- Enhance gender‑responsive data systems and support data collection for fisheries.
Required profile
- Proven experience in gender mainstreaming within international development or fisheries projects.
- Familiarity with FAO and GEF gender policies and guidelines.
- Strong ability to work with multi‑country teams and regional institutions.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills for stakeholder engagement.
