General Accounting Manager – Retail

About the role

The General Accounting Manager – Retail will lead the accounting function for Shaheen United Group's retail operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls. This full‑time, on‑site position is based in Qesm 1st 6 October and works closely with finance, operations and retail teams.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting activities for retail, including general ledger postings.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end closing processes and prepare financial statements.
• Monitor and maintain fixed‑asset registers.
• Review and approve journal entries, reconcile accounts, and ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
• Coordinate budgeting, forecasting and provide timely financial insights to management.
• Lead, mentor and develop accounting staff, streamline processes and support audits.

Required profile

• Strong technical accounting background with experience in financial statements and journal entries.
• Proven experience managing fixed assets and applying finance principles in a retail or similar environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
• Demonstrated supervisory or managerial experience.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to work on‑site and meet tight deadlines.
