General Manager – 4‑Star Resort

About the role

As the General Manager of the Mercure Hurghada resort, you will be the face of the Mercure brand in Egypt, leading a diverse team to deliver exceptional guest experiences and drive the property’s financial performance. You will combine strategic vision with hands‑on leadership to position the hotel as a premier 4‑star destination on the Red Sea.

Key responsibilities

• Direct overall management and strategic direction of the resort, ensuring all departments meet operational and financial targets aligned with Mercure standards.
• Maximise profitability through effective financial management, revenue optimisation across all outlets and rigorous cost control.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and Egyptian legislation across the property.
• Oversee integrated resort operations including guest services, food & beverage, rooms, recreation and beach facilities.
• Lead recruitment, selection and development of talent, fostering an inclusive and high‑performing culture.
• Build strong relationships with the local community and stakeholders to enhance market position.
• Maintain premium product and service quality, driving guest satisfaction, loyalty and positive reviews.
• Champion the Mercure brand identity and execute brand standards consistently throughout the resort.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a General Manager or senior leadership role within a 4‑star hotel, resort or comparable hospitality operation.
• Proven track record of leading multi‑department teams to achieve revenue growth and profitability targets.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in financial management and cost control.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate staff.
• Knowledge of Egyptian hospitality regulations and health‑safety standards.
