General Manager – Cairo Operations

About the role

Distoor is seeking a General Manager to lead its Cairo operations. This senior, hands‑on role will be the operational anchor of the AI‑powered music platform, translating strategy into day‑to‑day execution across artist services, partnerships, finance and team management.

Key responsibilities

• Own daily operations for artist onboarding, distribution coordination, partner relationships and internal workflows.
• Build and scale the Cairo team, handling hiring, onboarding and mentorship for artist success, partnerships and operations functions.
• Serve as the primary operational contact for signed artists, ensuring a seamless platform experience.
• Coordinate with the executive team across product, finance, music operations and technology to deliver strategic priorities.
• Manage relationships with key external partners such as WIO Bank, SonoSuite, Merlin, TikTok/SoundOn, Meta and regional agencies.
• Lead operational planning, KPI tracking and weekly reporting to support scaling from anchor markets to 25,000+ artists.
• Oversee artist acquisition pipelines in Egypt and the UAE, converting prospects into onboarded talent.
• Handle office operations, vendor management and local administrative functions for the Cairo entity.
• Represent Distoor in industry meetings, partner negotiations and artist discussions alongside the executive team.

Required profile

• 7+ years of operational leadership experience, preferably in startups, music, media, tech or creative industries.
• Proven track record of running day‑to‑day operations and scaling teams.
• Deep understanding of the MENA music and creative ecosystem.
• Strong ability to translate strategy into actionable outcomes.
