GIS Senior Engineer

About the role

Schneider Electric is looking for a multi‑skilled GIS Senior Engineer to join its Distribution Control Center (DCC) project team in New Cairo. You will act as the primary technical liaison between customers, internal stakeholders, and external engineering suppliers, ensuring that geospatial data supports mission‑critical operations.

Key responsibilities

• Translate customer requirements and design inputs into clear technical scopes of work for external suppliers.
• Lead and manage all technical communications with external GIS engineering partners.
• Oversee development, maintenance, and quality assurance of electrical utility network models using ArcGIS and ArcFM.
• Support integration of GIS data with ADMS systems and align it with project goals.
• Analyze spatial data with mapping software to aid project decisions.
• Develop custom mapping applications and tools for improved efficiency and visualization.
• Ensure data integrity, version control, and geodatabase management throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geography, GIS, Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience managing GIS and ADMS software implementation projects.
• At least 4 years of hands‑on experience with ArcGIS, especially in electrical utility networks and the ArcFM extension.
• Proficiency in Python, ArcPy or SQL for automating GIS workflows and data quality checks.
• Experience defining BOQ hardware and licenses, and working with GPS field‑data collection tools.
• Strong knowledge of shapefiles, geodatabase management, versioning and spatial data integrity.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑management abilities.
