Global Program Manager – Asia, Middle East & North Africa

About the role

The Global Program Manager for Asia, the Middle East and North Africa will lead Operation Smile’s surgical delivery and healthcare workforce education initiatives across the region. Reporting to the Global Programs department, the role combines program management, partnership building and educational design to expand cleft and pediatric surgical capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Design, adapt and implement educational products, training pathways and competency programs for surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, biomedical engineers and allied providers.
• Coordinate multi‑day training sessions and short‑term surgical missions, ensuring they deliver both patient care and intensive skills transfer.
• Serve as the primary relationship manager for Operation Smile country offices, overseeing planning, execution and continuous improvement of programs.
• Collect and share best practices, success stories and impact data with the global organization for replication.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with professional, educational and non‑profit organisations to strengthen high‑quality cleft and pediatric surgical care.
• Assess local educational needs, plan programming and evaluate outcomes to maximise impact.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large, multi‑country health or education programs, preferably in low‑resource settings.
• Strong understanding of surgical care delivery, cleft care pathways and capacity‑building strategies.
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross‑cultural communication skills.
• Willingness to travel regionally and work remotely across diverse time zones.
