Government Relations Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Government Relations Manager to lead all interactions with Egyptian government authorities, ensuring compliance and facilitating approvals for our dark‑store and retail operations. The role will be pivotal in removing operational roadblocks and supporting the rapid expansion of our e‑commerce platform across Egypt.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage relationships with government bodies, regulators, and local authorities.
• Monitor compliance with regulations affecting dark‑store and retail operations.
• Secure timely permits, licenses, and approvals required for business activities.
• Resolve operational or compliance issues with authorities to keep store setups on schedule.
• Stay ahead of regulatory changes and advise leadership on potential impacts.
• Serve as the primary contact for government audits, inspections, and queries.
• Collaborate with operations, logistics, legal, and commercial teams to accelerate on‑ground execution.
• Identify and address operational bottlenecks to maintain timelines.
• Represent the company in industry forums, trade associations, and government meetings.
• Provide regular updates to leadership on government affairs and compliance status.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing government relations in Egypt, preferably within retail, logistics, or e‑commerce.
• Strong understanding of local regulations, permits, and compliance requirements for dark‑store operations.
• Excellent networking and relationship‑building skills with government stakeholders.
• Problem‑solving mindset with ability to navigate complex operational challenges.
• Fluent communication in English and Arabic.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
