Government Relations Senior Specialist

About the role

The Government Relations Senior Specialist will lead all interactions with governmental, municipal and regulatory bodies to secure land acquisition, licensing, permits and project approvals for large‑scale real‑estate developments. This role ensures smooth coordination with authorities to keep projects on schedule and maintain business continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Lead communications and engagements with governmental, municipal and regulatory authorities relevant to real‑estate development.
• Develop and implement government‑relations strategies for licensing, zoning, land allocation, permitting and project approvals.
• Monitor, analyse and report on legislative, regulatory and policy developments affecting construction and urban planning.
• Identify, assess and escalate regulatory, political and governmental risks impacting projects.
• Prepare accurate reports on approval status, regulatory timeliness and government positions.
• Maintain complete, auditable records of all government communications and submissions.
• Manage contracts and connections with state‑owned providers for water, electricity, sewage and telecommunications for large development sites.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in a real‑estate developer or construction environment.
• Proven experience obtaining construction licenses and dealing with authorities such as the New Urban Communities Authority and New Cities Institutes.
• Deep knowledge of building codes, investment laws, urban community regulations (e.g., NUCA in Egypt) and real‑estate registration laws.
• Extensive experience securing building permits, certificates of validity, excavation permits, civil‑defence and environmental approvals.

Required skills

• Proficiency with digital government platforms and e‑portals for licensing.
