Head of Procurement

About the role

The Procurement Section Head will lead the sourcing of raw materials, spare parts, and services for steel fabrication and galvanization operations. The role ensures cost‑effective procurement, supplier reliability, and timely delivery aligned with production and project schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the procurement team in sourcing steel, zinc, spare parts, and services.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimise cost, quality and delivery performance.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers.
• Evaluate, qualify and maintain an approved vendor list.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve quality, delivery or commercial issues.
• Collaborate with production, projects and quality control to align procurement plans with operational needs.
• Prepare procurement reports, cost‑saving analyses and market intelligence for senior management.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical sourcing standards and relevant regulations.
• Identify, assess and mitigate supply‑chain risks.

Required profile

• 6‑8 years of procurement or supply‑chain experience, preferably in steel fabrication or galvanization.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
• Professional certifications such as CIPS or CPSM are advantageous.
• Proficient in English (both written and spoken); additional languages are a benefit.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP or Oracle).
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Experience with e‑procurement platforms.
• Familiarity with Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) tools.
