Health Officer – Project Implementation (Aswan, Egypt)

About the role

The Health Officer will lead the health component of a two‑year project funded by a donor and implemented by Save the Children in Aswan, Egypt. The role focuses on strengthening primary health care services for vulnerable groups, including refugees, migrants, women and persons with disabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, implement and report on health interventions in Aswan, ensuring compliance with SCI and donor requirements.
• Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government bodies, NGOs and community groups.
• Supervise a health coordinator and support community health workers through training and guideline dissemination.
• Lead community health committees and campaigns to promote health‑seeking behaviours.
• Support the pilot model that integrates refugees and migrants into Egypt’s Universal Health Insurance system.

Required profile

• Minimum four years (48 months) of experience in primary health‑care activities or similar projects.
• Experience working in humanitarian or development contexts, preferably with vulnerable populations.
• Ability to travel frequently and spend up to 70% of time in the field.
• Level 3 child safeguarding clearance, as the role involves regular contact with children.
