Health & Safety Section Head

About the role

The Health & Safety Section Head leads all HSE activities across construction sites, ensuring compliance with legal regulations, company policies, and industry standards. This role safeguards workers, prevents incidents, and supports project delivery through effective risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain health and safety policies, procedures and control measures for all construction sites.
• Monitor compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and company standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and unsafe practices.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near‑misses, produce detailed reports and enforce corrective actions.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE, firefighting equipment, first‑aid kits and emergency systems.
• Coordinate emergency response plans, evacuation procedures and fire‑fighting systems.
• Manage safe storage and handling of hazardous materials and chemicals.
• Maintain comprehensive HSE records, reports and documentation for audits.
• Collaborate with project teams to guarantee safe execution of construction activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in health and safety within construction.
• Professional certification in Health & Safety (IOSH, OSHA required; NEBOSH preferred).
