Hotel Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Maintenance Technician to join the facilities team at a leading hotel in Alexandria. The role involves responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring all hotel equipment and systems operate safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and communicate resolutions.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room assets, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect equipment, identify issues, and operate shut‑off valves for utilities.
• Maintain inventory, requisition parts, and document daily activities for shift handovers.
• Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, and replace light bulbs and A/C filters.
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical components, HVAC units, and other guestroom items.
• Program televisions, manage housekeeping‑related inventory, and use lockout/tagout procedures before work.
• Repair interior and exterior landscaping, including sprinkler systems.
• Input HVAC schedules and adjust temperature settings using computer systems.

Required profile

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 50 lb and perform occasional heavier lifting with assistance.
• Basic knowledge of air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic controls, carpentry, and energy‑conservation practices.
• Commitment to follow safety, security, and company policies, including proper handling of flammable materials.
• Professional appearance, confidentiality, and strong communication with guests and team members.
