About the role
The HSE Supervisor will ensure that all safety, health, and environmental standards are met across our transport, yard, and port operations. You will lead risk assessments, investigations, and training initiatives to maintain a safe working environment.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Egyptian safety laws, port authority requirements, and transportation standards.
- Conduct detailed risk assessments for road transport, yard operations, and port activities, and implement mitigation measures.
- Lead investigations of accidents and near‑misses, identify root causes, and apply corrective and preventive actions.
- Organise safety training for drivers, forklift operators, maintenance and loading teams; coordinate emergency drills.
- Perform regular and surprise inspections of yards, vehicles, equipment, and subcontractor operations.
- Monitor HSE team performance through field visits and rotate assignments to ensure unbiased inspections.
- Maintain and report HSE KPIs, preparing monthly, quarterly, and yearly management summaries.
- Develop and manage a documentation system for compliance files and certifications.
- Oversee environmental compliance, including hazardous material handling, spill response, and emissions monitoring.
- Prepare and update emergency response plans for fire, medical emergencies, and chemical spills.
- Assign and rotate HSE officers across locations and projects to avoid familiarity‑related oversights.
- Execute project‑specific HSE plans and ensure alignment with legal requirements.
- Report facility maintenance needs and define execution methods for internal teams or subcontractors.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Industrial Engineering) or a Master’s in Safety.
- Certifications: OSHA or IOSH, preferably NEBOSH Dangerous Goods training.
- 5–8 years of HSE experience, with at least 1 year in transport, logistics, or supply chain.
- Strong knowledge of Egyptian HSE regulations and IATA/IMDG requirements (if handling hazardous materials).
- Proven experience in incident investigation, root‑cause analysis, risk assessment, and compliance management.
