HSE & Sustainability Director

About the role

AL DAHRA AGRICULTURAL is seeking an experienced HSE & Sustainability Director to lead health, safety, environment and sustainability initiatives across its agricultural operations. The role reports to senior management and is responsible for shaping strategies that align with global best practices and the company’s sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive HSE policies and procedures in line with local regulations and international standards.
• Lead sustainability projects that improve resource efficiency, reduce environmental impact and promote social responsibility.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety audits and drive corrective actions to enhance safety performance.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and senior leaders to embed HSE and sustainability objectives into operational planning.
• Design and deliver training programs to foster a proactive safety culture and sustainable practices.
• Monitor, analyse and report HSE and sustainability metrics to stakeholders.
• Engage with regulators, industry bodies and local communities to ensure ESG compliance.
• Lead incident investigations, perform root‑cause analysis and implement prevention strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Agriculture or related field.
• Master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management or MBA preferred.
• 15+ years progressive HSE and sustainability experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven experience in agribusiness or similar multi‑site industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, occupational health & safety standards and sustainability frameworks.

Required skills

• NEBOSH and/or IOSH certification.
• ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certification.
• ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification.
