Human Resources Director – Agricultural Operations

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Director to build our HR function from the ground up within a fast‑growing agricultural business. This founding role will shape policies, recruit the HR team and ensure compliant people practices across both field labour and professional staff.

Key responsibilities

• Design and launch the HR department, defining structure, headcount, budget and operating model.
• Recruit, onboard and develop a full HR team covering recruitment, payroll, employee relations and HSE liaison.
• Select and implement core HR infrastructure such as HRIS, payroll and time‑and‑attendance systems.
• Draft, ratify and maintain a complete policy framework, ensuring compliance with Egyptian labour and social insurance law.
• Manage blue‑collar and white‑collar workforces, creating market‑aligned compensation and benefits structures.
• Oversee recruitment pipelines, workforce planning for seasonal peaks and agricultural cycles.
• Serve as the authority on Egyptian labour law, handling disputes, disciplinary matters and occupational health and safety.
• Partner with senior leadership on organisational design, talent strategy and culture development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Law or related field; CIPD, SHRM or equivalent certification preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including senior or director‑level roles.
• Proven experience building an HR department from scratch.
• Deep, current knowledge of Egyptian labour law and social insurance regulations.
• Track record managing both blue‑collar and white‑collar workforces.
