Infrastructure Automation Engineer (Freelance)

About the role

We are looking for a freelance Infrastructure Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated solutions that streamline infrastructure operations across the EMEA region. This remote position focuses on building robust workflows for server provisioning, software deployment, configuration management, and system monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop automated workflows for provisioning, deployment, configuration, and monitoring.
• Write scripts and code using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or other relevant languages.
• Implement and maintain configuration management with Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Create CI/CD pipelines and integrate them with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Develop automated monitoring and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, or Nagios.
• Troubleshoot automation failures, optimise scripts, and resolve bottlenecks.
• Document automation processes and collaborate with IT, development, and stakeholder teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• Proven experience in IT automation or DevOps roles.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Red Hat Certified Engineer, Terraform Associate) are a plus.
