IT Infrastructure Storage & Backup Administrator (Senior)

About the role

The position is responsible for monitoring, maintaining and supporting the bank's storage and backup infrastructure. The role works closely with service‑desk, desktop support and other infrastructure teams to ensure high availability and meet service level agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor storage and backup systems with standard tools to guarantee uptime and stability.
• Provide Tier‑2/3 support for service‑desk and desktop teams, handling incidents and escalations.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to deploy new services, troubleshoot bugs and resolve issues.
• Participate in capacity planning and define future storage and backup requirements.
• Maintain production environment availability, often handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Execute daily backup operations, monitor jobs, perform restores, and take corrective actions on failures.
• Configure backup policies for new clients and conduct test restores of files, databases and virtual machines.
• Manage SAN components (VMAX, PowerStore, RecoverPoint, VPLEX, SAN switches) including LUN creation, zoning and HBA/WWN configuration.

Required profile

• IT Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 0‑2 years of backup & storage administration for junior level; 2‑5 years for senior level.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work under pressure in a production environment.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of backup methods, media types and enterprise backup solutions such as NetBackup.
• Hands‑on experience with SAN concepts: LUNs, hard/soft zoning, HBAs, WWNs.
• Operational experience with VMAX, PowerStore, RecoverPoint, VPLEX and SAN switches.
• Ability to monitor, troubleshoot and restore backup jobs, and configure backup policies.
• Experience supporting remote, lights‑out data‑centre environments.
