Lab Technician – Mining Laboratory

About the role

The Laboratory Technician will join the on‑site laboratory at the Sukari gold mine in Marsa Alam, Egypt. This entry‑level position is responsible for preparing incoming geological and metallurgical samples for chemical and metallurgical analysis, ensuring timely and accurate results to support mining operations.

Key responsibilities

• Sort, split, pulverize and dry incoming samples to meet analysis specifications.
• Record sample data accurately in laboratory logs and maintain traceability.
• Clean, calibrate and operate preparation equipment such as pulverizers, dryers and calibration tools.
• Handle laboratory instrumentation setups safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace and comply with HSE and quality‑control procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma in Chemistry or a related degree (e.g., from the Singer Institute).
• Open to fresh graduates with a solid chemistry foundation.
• Basic proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Sample preparation techniques (sorting, splitting, pulverising, drying).
• Accurate data logging and record‑keeping.
• Equipment cleaning, calibration and operation.
• Safe handling of chemicals and hazardous materials.
• Mechanical operation of laboratory machinery (pulverisers, dryers).
