Learning Disabilities Teacher (2026-2027)

About the role

GEMS British International School Madinty is looking for a dedicated Learning Disabilities Teacher for the 2026‑2027 academic year. The role focuses on supporting students with learning disabilities to reach their full potential through tailored instruction and close collaboration with staff, families, and specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and identify the learning needs of students with learning disabilities.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) that address each student’s challenges and goals.
• Provide specialized teaching and support to promote academic progress and social‑emotional development.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate effective strategies and accommodations into mainstream classrooms.
• Maintain detailed records of student progress and adjust instructional approaches as needed.
• Engage with parents and caregivers to foster collaboration and support for students’ learning journeys.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Educational Psychology, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years teaching experience supporting students with learning disabilities.
• Strong knowledge of learning disabilities and evidence‑based teaching strategies.
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
• Patience, empathy, and dedication to supporting diverse learners.
• Relevant teaching certification or specialization in learning disabilities is a plus.
