Lecturer/Associate Professor – Digital System Design & VLSI

About the role

The German University in Cairo seeks a highly qualified Lecturer or Associate Professor to lead research and teaching in digital system design and VLSI. The successful candidate will join a vibrant research team, develop undergraduate and postgraduate curricula, and supervise graduate research projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead research projects in digital circuits, hardware accelerators, and System‑on‑Chip technologies.
• Design and deliver courses on digital logic design, CMOS digital ICs, VLSI, and computer architecture.
• Supervise bachelor, master, and PhD students.
• Establish collaborations with industry partners and international academic institutions.
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental advancement.
• Secure research funding through grants and industry partnerships.
• Participate in university service and administrative duties.

Required profile

• PhD in Electronics or Electrical Engineering with a focus on digital systems, VLSI, FPGAs, or IC design.
• Strong research record with publications in top‑tier journals and conferences.
• Industrial experience in digital systems implementation and hardware accelerators.
• Teaching experience at the university level is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
