Legal Counsel – Corporate Lawyer (Rail Sector)

About the role

Colas Rail Egypt is looking for a Legal Counsel to provide comprehensive legal support across its railway, construction, and metro projects. The role involves advising operational teams, drafting and negotiating a wide range of contracts, and managing compliance and litigation matters.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse legal documentation for public tenders, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Draft, review and negotiate supply agreements, sub‑contracts, service provider contracts, consortium and joint‑venture agreements.
• Provide day‑to‑day legal advice to the operation team and Country Director on Egyptian law.
• Support HR on labour and employment issues.
• Coordinate the implementation of the Group’s compliance programme.
• Develop litigation strategies, liaise with external counsel and the Paris legal department.
• Manage corporate formalities for the local entity in coordination with the French corporate team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (Master’s degree is a plus).
• 6–8 years of legal experience, preferably with 4–6 years in construction or industrial sectors.
• Fluent in Arabic and English; French is an advantage.
• Strong ethical standards and ability to work under the supervision of the Country Director and International Legal Manager.
