Legal Director – Lead Corporate & Commercial Legal Function

About the role

The investment group is seeking an experienced Legal Director to lead and modernise its legal function across corporate, commercial, regulatory, governance and transactional matters. This senior role reports directly to executive management and provides strategic legal advice to protect the business and support growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the entire legal department, overseeing day‑to‑day operations and acting as the principal adviser to senior leadership.
• Develop and implement legal strategies aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
• Draft, review, negotiate and manage a wide range of commercial agreements, corporate transactions, procurement contracts and development agreements.
• Provide counsel on corporate structuring, shareholder matters, and business expansion initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with Egyptian laws, regulations and corporate governance standards.
• Monitor legislative changes, identify legal risks and implement mitigation measures.
• Oversee litigation, disputes and arbitration, coordinating with external counsel as needed.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in senior legal leadership within a complex, multi‑sector environment.
• Commercially minded with strong judgment and the ability to balance strategic oversight with hands‑on execution.
• Proven ability to work confidently with senior stakeholders and executive teams.
• Strong leadership capability and experience building scalable legal processes and governance frameworks.
