Legal Manager - Retail

About the role

Majid Al Futtaim is looking for a Manager - Legal for its MAF Retail head office in Egypt. The role provides the organisation with support for effective legal services, advice and representation on all legal issues, directly or with external lawyers, and supports the Legal team and regulatory functions in a timely way with a consistent approach and style.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate contracts, agreements, legal notices and other legal documents in line with company standards and the law.
• Give legal advice on business transactions, disputes, claims, liabilities and legal obligations across the organisation.
• Carry out legal due diligence and assess legal risks of commercial and operational activities.
• Research laws, regulations, precedents and industry developments to protect business interests and ensure compliance.
• Support litigation by gathering evidence, preparing case documentation, coordinating with external counsel and helping with defence strategies.
• Review policies, procedures and business practices to ensure legal accuracy and reduce risk.
• Monitor legal issues, report potential risks and help resolve them quickly.
• Lead and develop team members through performance management, coaching, training coordination and succession planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Law.
• At least 6 years of legal experience, including at least 2 years in the retail sector.
• Strong knowledge of commercial law, contracts, compliance and legal risk management.
• Excellent business communication, drafting and presentation skills.
• Strong negotiation and analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Able to manage multiple priorities, lead teams and work with cross-functional stakeholders.
