About the role
The Document Controller will manage the firm’s document control systems and archive rooms, ensuring that client and legal‑reference documentation is accurate, complete, compliant and readily accessible. The role also oversees the legal reference library, cataloguing, updating and circulating newly published laws and amendments for the lawyers.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate, maintain and control all documents, creating and updating document control databases and procedures.
- Monitor document status, ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, and resolve control issues promptly.
- Design and maintain a searchable library directory, cataloguing books and updating the system with new law publications and amendments.
- Communicate new laws and amendments to lawyers and manage the flow of information across departments.
- Maintain organized records of checked‑in and checked‑out library items and archive materials.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science, Business Administration or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in document control, records management or archiving, preferably in a law‑firm environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English.
- Ability to handle confidential client and firm information with discretion.
