Light Current Engineer

About the role

The Light Current Engineer will be based on‑site in Cairo, responsible for the design, installation, testing and maintenance of low‑voltage systems across commercial, hospitality and residential projects.

Key responsibilities

• Review project specifications and prepare technical drawings, schematics, BOQs and installation guidelines.
• Design and select appropriate equipment for CCTV, access control, fire alarm, audio‑visual, intercom and networking infrastructure.
• Supervise installation teams, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and conduct inspections.
• Perform testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of all light‑current systems.
• Coordinate with project managers, suppliers and clients, providing technical support and training as needed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of technical solutions and internal processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Communications Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in designing, installing and maintaining low‑voltage systems, preferably on commercial or hospitality projects.
• Strong knowledge of relevant standards, safety regulations and best practices.
• Excellent communication, coordination and time‑management abilities.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on new technologies.

Required skills

• CCTV, access control, fire alarm, audio‑visual and intercom systems.
• Networking‑related low‑voltage infrastructure.
• System design, technical drawings and documentation (schematics, layouts, BOQs).
• Installation, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of light‑current equipment.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar design tools.
