Light Vehicle Mechanic – On‑site at Marsa Alam

About the role

The Light Vehicle (LV) Mechanic is responsible for executing both planned and unplanned maintenance on the mine’s light vehicle and auxiliary fleet. Working shift‑by‑shift within the Mobile Maintenance department, the role focuses on inspections, fault‑finding and repairs to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out regular equipment inspections and identify defects before they become major breakdowns.
• Prioritise maintenance tasks based on health, safety, environment risks and equipment availability.
• Participate in pre‑start and shift hand‑over meetings to communicate hazards and ongoing work.
• Gather required tools, replacement parts and specialised equipment before starting a task.
• Perform repairs to a high standard with the aim of zero re‑work.
• Test and commission machinery after repair to confirm full functionality.
• Follow all site and corporate safety requirements, including work permits, risk assessments and lock‑out/tag‑out procedures.
• Complete maintenance documentation, inspection logs and keep the workspace clean and organised.

Required profile

• Experience performing inspections, fault diagnosis and repairs on light vehicles and auxiliary equipment.
• Ability to work on a shift‑by‑shift basis and attend shift hand‑over meetings.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and environment standards, including zero‑harm objectives.
• Familiarity with work permits, risk assessments and lock‑out/tag‑out isolation procedures.
• Attention to detail in documentation and housekeeping of tools and parts.
