Local Compliance Officer

About the role

The Local Compliance Officer (LCO) will lead the implementation of Holcim’s Compliance Programme in Egypt, ensuring alignment with the Group’s strategy and local legal requirements. Working closely with the Area Compliance Officer, the country General Counsel and functions such as Procurement, HR and Sustainability, the LCO will promote the Code of Business Conduct and drive a culture of prevention, detection and remediation of compliance risks.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Regional and Local General Counsel in developing the annual Country Compliance Plan.
• Provide compliance advice to senior management and the General Counsel.
• Build cross‑functional relationships to help local teams understand and manage compliance risk exposure.
• Assist in investigations of potential compliance issues and support risk‑assurance functions.
• Implement and adapt Group compliance policies, directives and guidance to the Egyptian context.
• Oversee processes such as third‑party due diligence and ensure appropriate training for relevant functions.
• Deliver or coordinate compliance training tailored to local employees.
• Identify compliance risks in new business projects and propose mitigation plans.
• Report key compliance indicators and monitor implementation effectiveness.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of local regulations and ability to anticipate compliance risks.
• Experience advising senior management on compliance matters.
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Proactive attitude with a focus on prevention and remediation.
