About the role
The LRT Driver is responsible for the safe, punctual and efficient operation of light rail trains on both the main line and within the depot. This position ensures high standards of safety, reliability and customer service while following all operating protocols and signalling systems.
Key responsibilities
- Operate LRT trains on the main line and within depot boundaries according to operational procedures.
- Execute stabling and unstabling procedures at designated locations.
- Monitor train performance and comply with onboard and wayside signalling systems.
- Conduct pre‑service safety inspections and follow all safety protocols, SOPs and PPE requirements.
- Notify the Traffic Controller of incidents, abnormalities or safety hazards.
- Coordinate with the Operations Control Centre or Depot Train Controllers on timetable adherence and degraded mode operations.
- Assist passengers during boarding and alighting to ensure safety and adherence to scheduled departure times.
- Maintain professionalism and represent the LRT service positively.
Required profile
- Technical education in electronics, electrical, mechanical or communications engineering.
- Solid understanding of technical terminology used in industrial or transport systems.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
- 0‑3 years of experience in a technical field; railway experience is an advantage.
