Maintenance Engineer – Agricultural Machinery

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to lead the upkeep of agricultural machinery and farm facilities. The role involves supervising technicians, ensuring equipment reliability, and supporting safe, efficient farm operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians.
• Schedule, delegate, and monitor maintenance tasks to meet deadlines.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for farm equipment and machinery.
• Coordinate repairs of faulty equipment to minimise downtime.
• Oversee maintenance of farm buildings, structures, and infrastructure.
• Identify and resolve plumbing, electrical, and general facility issues.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and ensure material availability.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and conduct regular safety inspections.
• Assist in budgeting, monitor expenses, and generate reports on equipment reliability, downtime, and maintenance costs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering.
• At least 8 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a farming or agricultural environment.
• Previous supervisory or managerial experience.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Familiarity with agricultural equipment and machinery.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
