Maintenance Engineer

About the role

Ikon Industries is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to ensure the reliability and efficiency of its woodworking machinery and production equipment. The role involves both preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC routers, beam saws, edge banding machines, drilling machines, sanders, presses, and dust collection systems.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to maximise machine availability.
• Monitor equipment performance, analyse recurring failures and recommend efficiency improvements.
• Coordinate with Production and Quality teams to address equipment‑related issues.
• Supervise maintenance technicians and external contractors as needed.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports and spare‑parts inventory.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Participate in installation, commissioning and testing of new machinery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of maintenance experience in wood manufacturing or furniture production.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Good communication skills and ability to work under production pressure.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with CNC routers, beam saws, edge banding machines, drilling machines, sanders, presses and dust collection systems.
• Familiarity with PLC‑controlled equipment.
• Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
