Maintenance & Facility Engineer

About the role

The Maintenance & Facility Engineer ensures that all store facilities, equipment, and technical systems operate efficiently and reliably. You will lead preventive and corrective maintenance programs to guarantee a safe, uninterrupted shopping experience for customers and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities across assigned stores.
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment, identifying issues and recommending corrective actions.
• Monitor equipment performance, implement measures to reduce downtime and maintenance costs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems with refrigeration, HVAC, electrical systems, generators, plumbing and store equipment.
• Coordinate with external contractors for specialized work and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history and spare‑parts inventory.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting maintenance expenses and recommending repairs, replacements or upgrades.
• Support store operations by ensuring refrigeration and cold‑chain equipment function efficiently and participate in emergency response.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 2–5 years of maintenance engineering experience, preferably in retail, FMCG, supermarkets, hypermarkets or commercial facilities.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, HVAC, electrical systems and building maintenance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with maintenance management systems is a plus.
