Maintenance Shift Engineer

About the role

The Maintenance Shift Engineer is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the float line and Mirror Line in a manufacturing environment. You will lead a team, manage health, safety and environmental compliance, and drive technical performance to meet production and quality targets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Health, Safety and Environment programs, including permits to work, safe systems of work, risk assessments, incident investigations and environmental compliance.
• Lead, coach and develop the maintenance team through performance management, effective communication and regular meetings.
• Oversee technical performance of the float line and Mirror Line, ensuring preventive maintenance (PPM) completion, rapid response to breakdowns, and contribution to weekly maintenance plans.
• Maintain equipment quality, monitor quality loss targets, and ensure product meets customer specifications.
• Control costs by allocating work hours and material orders accurately to work orders.
• Support local World Class Manufacturing (WCM) initiatives and global/local projects as a sponsor or team member.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum two years of experience in a continuous‑process manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, permit‑to‑work systems, LOTO procedures, and environmental regulations.
• Basic understanding of employment law and people policies such as discipline, grievance and absence management.
