Mechanical Construction Engineer

About the role

The Mechanical Construction Engineer will lead and coordinate end‑to‑end execution of mechanical construction and installation activities for industrial projects at Lafarge’s cement plant in Ain Al‑Sokhna. The role ensures safety, schedule adherence and compliance with engineering drawings, technical specifications and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Adhere to and enforce all relevant HSE legislation, company policies and standards.
• Develop, approve and monitor detailed Risk Assessments and Safe Work Instructions.
• Supervise mechanical erection, installation and commissioning of equipment such as kilns, mills, conveyors, crushers, fans, pumps and piping systems.
• Monitor daily site activities, manpower allocation and progress against the project schedule.
• Coordinate with project engineers, contractors and vendors to ensure smooth execution.
• Conduct inspections and quality checks of mechanical installations and fabricated components.
• Identify execution risks and implement corrective actions proactively.
• Review contractor work progress, measurements and payment bills.
• Support testing and commissioning activities of mechanical systems.
• Prepare daily/weekly execution reports and update project management.
• Authorize material requests from the warehouse for the project.

Required profile

• Commitment to obtaining all HSE competencies as defined in the country HSE training matrix.
• Ability to develop and approve detailed risk assessments and safe work instructions.
• Proven experience supervising mechanical erection, installation and commissioning on industrial projects.
• Strong coordination skills with contractors, vendors and project engineers.
