Mechanical Inspection Engineer

About the role

The Mechanical Inspection Engineer ensures the integrity, reliability and safe operation of all mechanical equipment at the Sokhna cement plant. By conducting thorough inspections, condition monitoring and quality control, the role minimizes unplanned downtime and supports continuous production.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect critical equipment such as rotary kilns, coolers, pre‑heater systems, ball mills and crushers.
• Measure and monitor equipment conditions, analyse trends and recommend maintenance actions while respecting production constraints.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of the condition of all plant equipment and schedule planned inspections.
• Generate work orders based on inspection results and perform first‑line analysis of any anomalies.
• Increase equipment availability by reducing the likelihood of unexpected failures.
• Participate in the Reliability Steering Committee, promote cross‑functional Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and drive implementation of corrective solutions.
• Analyse inspection KPIs, suggest performance improvements and address recurring reliability issues.
• Ensure maintenance practices comply with quality assurance standards and manage vibration, balancing, laser alignment, thermographic imaging and lubrication activities.

Required profile

• Commitment to adhere to relevant legislation, company HSE policies and safety standards.
• Completion of mandatory HSE competencies as defined in the country training matrix.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment used in cement production.
• Ability to analyse data, identify trends and prioritize maintenance actions.
• Experience working in a cross‑functional reliability or maintenance team.
