Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Sharkia. The role involves maintaining, troubleshooting and improving production machinery to ensure high reliability and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment and utility systems.
• Diagnose mechanical failures and implement solutions to minimise downtime.
• Monitor equipment performance and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Develop and follow preventive maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with production teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Supervise maintenance technicians and external contractors as required.
• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance actions, repairs and spare‑parts usage.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory for mechanical equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company maintenance standards.
• Participate in installation, commissioning and upgrades of new machinery.
• Analyse recurring equipment issues and propose long‑term solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–4 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of pumps, compressors, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programmes.
• Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS/ERP) preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Willingness to work in a factory setting and respond to emergencies.
