Mechanical Technical Office Engineer

About the role

The Mechanical Technical Office Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all mechanical designs – including HVAC, plumbing, and fire‑fighting systems – meet local codes, project specifications, and client expectations. You will lead the preparation and review of shop drawings, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and support site operations with accurate technical documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Review consultant‑issued mechanical designs for compliance with codes, regulations, and project specifications.
• Supervise and review detailed mechanical shop drawings, approve revisions, and prepare method statements, RFIs, and compliance reports.
• Coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, structural, and electrical disciplines and liaise with procurement for material approvals.
• Communicate with external design agencies, submit shop drawings and material submittals, and attend coordination meetings with consultants, contractors, and client representatives.
• Mentor junior technical office engineers, review their outputs, and ensure timely delivery of high‑quality deliverables.
• Report design or coordination issues, assess risks related to design changes, and provide technical input for variation orders and claims.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7–10 years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on technical office functions.
• Experience in real‑estate projects (residential, commercial or mixed‑use) is preferred.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
