Mechatronics Engineer

About the role

Grand Plast, a leading Egyptian industrial and trading company specializing in plastic products, is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to join its manufacturing team. The engineer will be responsible for implementing preventive maintenance, diagnosing breakdowns, and improving equipment reliability in a fast‑paced production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor preventive maintenance plans to minimise unexpected breakdowns.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, perform corrective maintenance and conduct root‑cause analysis.
• Maintain mechanical systems such as bearings, gearboxes, pneumatics and hydraulics, including dismantling and assembly.
• Work with industrial electrical control panels, read schematics and program PLCs, sensors and drives (Siemens, Omron, Schneider).
• Suggest improvements to boost equipment efficiency, reduce energy consumption and minimise waste.
• Prepare daily and weekly maintenance reports, document breakdowns, root causes and spare‑part requirements.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of mechatronics and electromechanics with ability to integrate mechanical, electrical and control systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering and solid background in electrical engineering, power systems and motor control.
• Hands‑on experience in maintenance and repair of automated production equipment, including diagnostics and preventive maintenance.
• Proficiency in electronics, circuit components, wiring and troubleshooting of control boards and instrumentation.
