Medical Claims Coordinator – EKN2 Aswan

About the role

The EKN2 project strengthens a multisectoral response so that displaced Sudanese people in Egypt have safe, equitable and timely access to quality sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) prevention and response services, including case management, health care, MHPSS and social empowerment. The Medical Claims Coordinator audits and verifies all medical records and financial claims from healthcare service providers, ensuring accuracy, compliance with SCI guidelines and timely claim submission. The role reports to the Health Officer and is a 12-month position at Grade 5.

Key responsibilities

• Validate medical information and claims received from healthcare providers and proofread data for completeness and accuracy.
• Communicate with healthcare providers and SCI Medical Coordinators to verify and clarify information and documentation.
• Review medical records, patient histories, billing documents and related files to determine coverage, payment amounts or overpayments and patient conditions.
• Ensure medical bills comply with agreed contract price lists and SCI finance and procurement policies.
• Enter and manage data on medical bills and claims accurately, and prepare regular reports.
• Draft correspondence, forms, invoices and other required documents.
• Perform other related tasks assigned by the line manager and review MEAL weakly cases.
• Ensure the Child Safeguarding policy is mainstreamed in all program activities and uphold SCI policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in medicine.
• Proven experience reviewing and auditing medical claims; 1-3 years of project experience with a reputable humanitarian NGO in Egypt, preferably in the health sector.
• Fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic.
• Commitment to Save the Children's values and principles.

Required skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including negotiation, influencing and coaching.
• Ability to build effective relationships with healthcare providers, suppliers and partners.
