Medical Data Assistant (Cairo)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Medical Data Assistant to support the Migration Health Assessment Centre in Cairo. The role involves accurate data entry, management of medical records, and providing administrative support to ensure smooth operation of health assessments for migrants.

Key responsibilities

• Enter, verify and update medical and demographic data in IOM databases.
• Maintain and archive patient records following confidentiality and data‑management standards.
• Assist with call‑centre activities, responding to inquiries and providing customer care.
• Prepare routine reports and assist in data analysis as required.
• Support senior medical staff with clerical tasks and documentation.

Required profile

• University degree with at least two years of relevant experience, or secondary school diploma with at least four years of experience.
• Experience in data entry, call‑centre environments, or medical administrative settings.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and customer‑service principles.
• Previous experience with NGOs or international organisations is an advantage.

Required skills

• High computer literacy in Windows and MS Office.
• Proficiency in data entry and data‑management principles.
• Fast and accurate typing (minimum 60 wpm).
• Basic knowledge of web page design (asset).
