Merchandise Planner

About the role

A Saudi retail and e-commerce company specializing in premium home textiles and bedding linens is hiring a Merchandise Planner. The role determines the optimal product assortment, quantities and pricing to maximize sales, keep healthy stock levels and reach target profitability. It works at SKU level and is accountable for inventory productivity, including sell-through, stock turn, stock availability, overstock reduction and gross margin.

Key responsibilities

• Demand and inventory planning: analyze historical sales, seasonality and market trends; forecast demand at category, design and SKU levels; set initial buy and reorder quantities; establish min/max stock levels, safety stock and reorder points; monitor stock availability and flag overstock and stockout risks.
• Product and assortment planning: recommend which designs, colors and sizes to launch, reorder, reduce or discontinue; optimize assortment breadth and depth; recommend allocation of inventory investment across categories.
• Pricing, markdown and clearance planning: recommend initial selling prices based on landed cost, target gross margin and competition; recommend price adjustments, markdown percentages and clearance strategies; monitor their impact on sales, turnover and profitability.
• Allocation and replenishment: determine stock allocation across stores and e-commerce, recommend stock transfers, and monitor replenishment performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Merchandising or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in merchandise planning, inventory planning, demand planning or retail analytics.
• Strong understanding of retail merchandising, pricing and inventory management.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Odoo.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
