Mill Fitter – Mining Plant Maintenance

About the role

The Mill Fitter ensures reliability, availability and optimal performance of milling and related mechanical equipment at the Sukari gold mine. Working on‑site in Marsa Alam, the role leads preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance for SAG and ball mills, pumps, crushers, conveyors and other process plant assets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance on SAG/ball mills, pumps, pebble crushers, conveyors and other mechanical equipment.
• Monitor equipment condition and performance, detect wear or failures and drive actions to maximise availability and throughput.
• Diagnose mechanical failures, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Identify and deliver continuous‑improvement initiatives for maintenance practices, cost reduction and asset care.
• Enforce safety and compliance procedures including risk assessments, permit‑to‑work, isolation and confined‑space work.
• Provide technical coaching, on‑the‑job training and support to maintenance personnel.
• Plan and coordinate work, ensure shift coverage, respond to breakdowns and maintain accurate maintenance records.

Required profile

• Qualified Artisan Fitter/Turner/Millwright from a recognised trade institution.
• 15+ years of hands‑on industrial maintenance experience, preferably in milling and gold‑process plant environments.
• 3–5 years in a supervisory or team‑lead role with shift planning and task delegation.
• Strong knowledge of SAG and ball mills, gearboxes, hydraulic lubrication units, rotating equipment, hydraulics and pneumatics.
