OEC Manager – Egypt, Gulf & North West Africa

About the role

The OEC Manager will lead the development and implementation of Abbott's compliance program across Egypt, the Gulf region, and North West Africa. This senior position ensures adherence to international policies, local regulations, and corporate ethical standards while supporting the Sales and Commercial teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, launch and continuously improve a robust compliance program, including periodic policy reviews.
• Identify situations requiring deviations from international policies and obtain Affiliate Compliance Committee approval.
• Prepare for audits, respond to audit requests, and ensure implementation of audit recommendations.
• Provide strategic guidance to Sales and Commercial teams on policy adherence, legislation, and ethical standards.
• Lead onboarding and ongoing training on Code of Conduct, anti‑corruption, and compliance policies.
• Develop monitoring processes for professional services, expense reports, event sponsorships, and other high‑risk activities.
• Conduct third‑party due diligence and mitigate identified risks.
• Coordinate with the Abbott OEC Global Privacy Office, manage privacy training, incident response, data subject requests, and act as the affiliate’s Data Protection Officer.
• Support ad‑hoc projects and facilitate Affiliate Compliance Committee meetings.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in compliance, preferably within the healthcare sector.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations in Egypt, Gulf countries, and French‑speaking African markets.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
• Excellent judgment, time‑management, and organizational skills.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and training abilities.
