Operation and Maintenance Engineer

About the role

Air Products is seeking an Operation and Maintenance Engineer to oversee the day‑to‑day performance of its hydrogen production facilities at the Ain Sokhna site. Reporting to the Plant Head, you will ensure reliable operation of two PHG250 SMR units, the hydrogen compressor and the backup system while working closely with both Air Products and St Gobain personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor all relevant EH&S regulations and Air Products safety processes, including emergency preparedness and incident management.
• Report and mitigate hazards using the Air Products Basic Safety Practice (BSP) system.
• Participate in safety meetings and act as part of the on‑call team for site security and safety.
• Maintain discipline, punctuality, housekeeping standards and ensure proper use of PPE.
• Support daily operation of the hydrogen plant, troubleshoot process issues, and contribute to plant projects.
• Ensure customer (St Gobain) requirements are met through strict adherence to quality procedures.
• Collaborate with site and corporate resources to achieve productivity and reliability targets.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating and maintaining hydrogen production equipment, including PHG250 SMR units and hydrogen compressors.
• Strong knowledge of EH&S regulations and safety management systems.
• Ability to work on‑call and liaise effectively with customers and internal teams.
• Commitment to high reliability, efficiency and continuous improvement in a 24/7 plant environment.
