Operational Technology Specialist – FMCG

About the role

The Operational Technology (OT) Specialist will support, maintain, and optimise industrial automation across FMCG manufacturing sites. You will ensure the reliability, security and performance of PLC, SCADA, HMI and related control systems while driving digital transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain OT systems including PLCs, SCADA, HMI and industrial control platforms.
• Monitor and troubleshoot automation equipment to maximise uptime and efficiency.
• Support industrial communication networks such as Profinet, Ethernet/IP, OPC UA and Modbus.
• Manage industrial servers, edge devices and data‑acquisition infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, IT and production teams to resolve technical issues.
• Assist with automation upgrades, system migrations and Industry 4.0 projects.
• Configure and maintain SCADA, MES and HMI applications.
• Ensure compliance with OT cybersecurity policies and industry standards.
• Perform preventive maintenance, health checks and root‑cause analysis for automation failures.
• Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams and operating procedures.
• Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance personnel.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in Operational Technology, industrial automation or manufacturing engineering.
• Experience in FMCG, food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, automotive or similar manufacturing environments is preferred.
• Hands‑on experience with industrial automation systems and control technologies.
