Packaging Engineer

About the role

The Packaging Engineer will manage in‑house, imported and local supplier packaging, supporting new product launches, coordinating approvals, and driving lean manufacturing initiatives. The role ensures packaging quality, container performance, and compliance across the supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Organise plant reviews and buy‑offs for test shipping packs and racks through packaging committee meetings.
• Coordinate cross‑functional approval of packaging forms and ensure full sign‑off by committee members.
• Audit packaging and labeling compliance for supplier containers and analyse waste in current packaging solutions.
• Lead daily operations to resolve packaging and PFEP issues, conducting safety and quality problem‑solving.
• Maintain standard pack data, manage returnable containers, and develop new rack designs.
• Lead workshops to align cross‑functional teams on new packaging designs, footprint, orientation and pack quantity.
• Oversee fabrication and delivery of new model racks, ensuring they meet scope, launch milestones and budget.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 1‑3 years of hands‑on experience in warehousing, supply chain or transportation within automotive or manufacturing environments.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure and lead teams.
