Part-Time Deskside Technician – Cairo

About the role

The Deskside Technician provides on‑site IT support to end users across multiple facilities in Cairo. Working closely with the Service Desk, the technician resolves hardware, software and network issues while adhering to SLA commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Visit client locations to diagnose and resolve PC, laptop, printer and peripheral problems.
• Install, upgrade, move and de‑install hardware and software assets.
• Track incidents and service requests accurately in the ITSM ticketing system.
• Implement virus detection, eradication procedures and ensure endpoint protection.
• Support basic network connectivity issues and troubleshoot Windows 7/10 operating system errors.
• Collaborate with the Service Desk and other support teams to meet contract deliverables.

Required profile

• Fluent in English and the local language.
• 2‑3 years of experience in an IT support role.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical users.
• Independent, flexible and able to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• PC hardware and software troubleshooting.
• Windows 7 and Windows 10 operating systems.
• Basic network troubleshooting.
• Microsoft Office (latest suite).
• Symantec Endpoint Protection.
• ITSM ticket management tools (preferred).
• Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy Objects.
• Printer and peripheral device support.
• Tablet and smart‑device basic support.
