Pizzaiolo – Junior Sous Chef

About the role

Portaluna, the first Morgans Originals hotel in Egypt, is looking for a motivated Pizzaiolo – Junior Sous Chef to lead the pizza station and support the broader kitchen team. The role combines hands‑on pizza preparation with supervision of staff, menu innovation and quality control in a vibrant hotel restaurant environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee food preparation and cooking within the pizza specialty area, ensuring recipes and presentation meet brand standards.
• Collaborate with the Sous Chef and Executive Chef to develop new pizza menu items and specials.
• Supervise, train and mentor kitchen staff working in the pizza station, delegating tasks and ensuring safe food‑handling practices.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, flavor and visual appeal; inspect plates before service.
• Assist with kitchen organization, equipment maintenance and cleanliness.
• Manage inventory for pizza ingredients, track usage, minimise waste and support stock ordering.

Required profile

• Proven experience in pizza preparation and cooking within a hotel or restaurant setting.
• Ability to lead and train a small kitchen team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and quality.
• Flexibility to work during peak service periods.
